ANUAR OTHMAN

ANUAR OTHMAN also known as Ridhwan Anuar was born on 31 July 1957 in Brani Island, Singapore. His first work was the poem 'Patience' which was published in Singapore's Berita Minggu newspaper in 1978. He has an 'A' grade G.C.E and a Diploma in Writing from the London School of Writing (1981). He is a member of the Art Association. Ever followed a writing workshop at West Dean College, England (1998); attended the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, United States (2000). Now has his own publishing company, Anuar Othman & Associates, which publishes books for local writers.

ALIMAN HASSAN

ALIMAN HASSAN or pen name Lela Kencana was born on 18 January 1932 in Padang Jeringau, Kallang Road. Received education at Kota Raja Malay School (1939-1946); and Sultan Idris Teachers College, Tanjong Malim (1949-1951). He passed the M.C.E (1966) and H.S.C (1967) examinations. Aliman has been a teacher, Assistant Lecturer of Malay Language and Literature at the Singapore Teachers College and has the rank of Senior Education Officer and finally Principal Education Officer. He has also held the position of Visiting Teacher (1952-1955); Special Assistant Inspector (Arts and handicrafts) (1970-1974); and Special Adviser (Malay Language and Literature) (1974-1980). He retired from the Ministry of Education in 1987. Then worked as a Senior Public Relations Officer at MUIS until January 1989. He wrote a series of radio and television shows.

Aliman also held several positions in various organizations, including; Honorary Secretary of SKGMS (1956-1960); Honorary Secretary of ASAS ’50 (1960-1963); Foundation Treasurer ’50 (1964); member of the KGMS Committee (1965-1970); KGMS Trustee (1983-1989); Member of the Central Council Committee (1967-1969); Permanent Chairman of the Maulud Memorial Scholarship Board (LBKM) (1983-present); member of the Singapore Malay Language Committee (1987-1989); and a member of the Kampong Siglap Mosque Committee (1987-present).

ALFIAN SA'AT

THOUSAND HOURS born in 1977. Received education at Tampines Primary School; Raffles Institution; Raffles Junior College and National University of Singapore (NUS) majoring in Medicine. He is prolific in various genres including poetry, short stories, drama and essays in Malay and English. He is also active in the literary movement by being a member and scriptwriter of Ekamatra Theater (1997-2001) and the Necessary Stage (2000-2001).

AIDLI 'ALIN' MOSBIT

AIDLI 'ALIN' MOSBIT born in 1973. Received a Degree in drama from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. He is also a director, actor, lighting and fashion designer, as well as a producer of arts education programs for schools. He also acted in several publications and was invited to participate in the ASEAN Young Writers Week organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports (1997).

Performance script Main-main (published by Teater Ekamatra), Ikan Cantik, … Dan Tiga Dara Terbang Ke Bulan (published by Teater KAMI); television script Shadow Whispers, Overtime Work, Corridor and Seramak Culture; directed the drama Madu II, Causeway; a Malay performance for the drama Descendants of Eunuch Admiral titled Descendants of Admiral Tak Ada Anu in the Kuo Pao Kun Festival in 2003; produced the play La Libre Latifa, a one-woman play in conjunction with the 2003 Raya Festival at Esplanade, Singapore. Bisik (joint Anthology).
